Thanks to everyone who voted and commented on my attempts at close up/macro using a borrowed 100mm Canon Macro Lens. I think this one was more luck than judgement!

Part and parcel of macro photography I think, although it could be applied to any kind of photography really. Could have done with just a slightly smaller aperture to have helped in keeping everything if focus. But the focus is sharp where it matters on the eye's and proboscis. A valiant attempt indeed and one I'd certainly be happy with....

Excellent capture. I think the shallow DOF helps this image as it makes the Bee stand out which is the main subject of this shot. Well done!
