I think this is the same wreck at Black Nab on the N. Yorks coast that has featured in quite a few excellent shots. This was taken in 1979 while I was walking the Cleveland way - nowhere near as artistic as other shots -but a good record of what the sea does to mere metal!
Partially rescued via Photoshop restoration.

A lovely shot, well composed... but what a shame the lens was so dusty.
This would have been three years after the event that lost three lives...an interesting shot for me as I remember it when it was like this. Seeing it now it's hard to believe.
Thanks for commenting folks, I thought this would be of interest to all the photographers who have taken shots there - I found it in a slide box while scanning shots of the walk.
Angela, it's the slide that's dusty ![]()
Steve...
great to see the comparison! ....oh and do you still have the Zorki?
Fascinating image Steve. I know the wreck well in its current form. It's the fishing vessel Admiral Van Tromp. But I've never seen any shots of it so relatively soon after it was wrecked (which was 30 September 1976).
I'm amazed how much it has changed. At the current rate of decay it clearly won't be there much longer!
Thanks for posting the shot.
Steve
Hi Mark & Steve, I thought the pic would be of interest as it's now a famous landmark! I'll have to revisit it before the wreck disappears. Mark, the Zorki went soon after this pic was taken - I sold it to fund a used Pentax SP500.
