Just a quick upload this morning, loads of work to get through and then maybe I will have time to get out with the camera if i'm lucky. I will of course catch up with you all later.
These are not quality images but the colour variation of the mother and chick I hadn't seen before and thought worth showing. She had a brood of ten and three were this colouring and the others normal Mallard colouring. I guess the father might be a duck other than a Mallard. Who knows?
Anyway I hope you like them, the ducks not the pic's.
Thanks for all the C&C's on my Mandarin, very much appreciated and to Nishad for his GEA, a lovely surprise.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend and the glorious sunshine, off to work now.
Steve.

You have to have a vote for the cute factor alone Steve. The chick is a real cutie, cropped a bit too tight maybe, but super detail on the feathers. V2 is not too bad either.

Aaaaaaaaww...saw quite a few of these 'special' ducklings at Arundel a couple of weeks ago but it was Mum who was the hybrid with a white belly. Unlike you, I didn't really get any great shots. Well done!!

A cute subject but way, way to tight in the frame.
Large isn't always best and leaving some room for your subject to move into would pay dividends and dramatically improve the composition.
The low shooting angle works very well here.

Lovely photos but it's not a mallard. Female mallards have mottled brown and tan feathers and purple wing flashes. No idea what sort of duck it is.
