Have you noticed that white birds, whether it is a Gull or Swan are nearly always so pristine white, probably due to all the preening. Here are a couple of studies of pristine Mute Swans.
This is my last upload. For reasons I won't bore you with.
I might upload again at some point in the future, who knows?
Thanks for all the support and encouragement, the comments, awards and votes. Every one has been very much appreciated. I have met and made many friends.
Have a great weekend.

Beautiful images with wonderful detail
That’s a shame. I enjoy your uploads.
A wonderful edit Steve. Superb detail and grace
2 lovely images,v1 is my favorite,
v1 for me today steve pure class nice one
v1 great design
V1 gets my vote, though I do like both. So sorry to note you are leaving us. Have so enjoyed your images. Take care and trust all goes well with you and yours.
Steve, I am so sorry you are leaving! Do hope you may return at a future date.
Of today's shots, I am not going with the crowd and am voting for V 2.
All the best, mate!
A excellent capture
Two excellent close-ups, very well presented. Very sad news to hear that you are leaving us, Steve, I do hope that you may re-consider, you and your images would be sorely missed on this site. Carol
Amazing both of them! Great shots!
A lovely set.
V1 for me, a very beautiful shot Steve! I do hope you'll return soon...as you know, I feel the same way but did realise a few days ago that I'd really prefer a few comments from people whose work I admire and whose opinion I value to 100 clicks from a 'click club' that don't say anything about the quality of my work. Of course I respect your decision but do hope that you'll come back!
V1 for me Steve, excellent pose and study, sorry to here you are leaving us, I will miss your images, I know this site is far from perfect, but for all its foibles it appears to be the best of its type, hope to see you soon..
Gorgeous close up, love those swans, they are indeed elegant birds
Fisrt class shot Steve. Its not easy to produce an original shot of a bird like the Swan but I think you have done just that here. Strong and imaginative crop. Not too sure about V 2; the upside down effect did not sit too well.

I agree, such very good work.
well composed shot Steve and I especially like v1.
Steve I really do not know what to say, maybe just that I will be disappointed not to see your images here if you do stop posting, and that maybe we can get to Arundel sometime before it gets too dark and the day much too short, Both these of the swan are good shots but for me V1 really is beautifully captured, I really hope that you stay
Sorry to see you go Steve, I do hope you return one day. Just make it sooner rather than later.
All the best,
great shot , love V1 so well presented
Two excellent images Steve, well detailed and exposed !! V1 for me mate
Beautiful images Steve especially V1
Both good but V1 for me.
Love V1. Great composition
V1 is the one for me, love the graceful curves, not keen on v2 doesn't feel right being upside down, although I know its as seen.
Hi everyone. I've just got back and checked my PF. Many thanks for all your kind comments and I feel really stupid, just to clear up a slight misunderstanding that's come about because of my lack of explanation. I'm not posting only because of time constraints, I'm away for a week or so firstly, and with work picking up, I thought it unfair to upload new images, allowing members to vote and comment on mine and not having enough time to comment and vote on theirs or anybody else's. I will be posting again, just not for quite a while. I must admit, disappointment had made me consider leaving but I decided just to take a rest.
Best wishes and kind regards,
Sorry to miss you for a wee while - haste ye back, and no matter if you can't keep up (me neither) just stay with the community.
I have just uploaded something very similar but it won't be so successful.
Two supebly captured shots, Steve, hope to see back soon but in the meantime I wish you all the very best.
brilliant compositions, great shots
Your pictures will be missed, Steve. Your wildlife images in particular are lovely. I really hope you will be able to join in again soon.
2 very well detailed shots Steve, V1 for me, hope to see you uploading again soon,
Version 1 is definitely the best, especially the large version. Great stuff!
Like number one best – a daring and successful treatment. Number 2 is a bit confusing.
Have a great new year & all the very best for 2011
