There are six different species of Flamingo. This is a Chilean Flamingo, the pink colouring comes from the birds diet.

Carol: I believe that they add some kind of shrimp mix in their diet to get this colour.

Carol's correct, their diet mainly consists of shrimp and crustaceans.

I saw them wild in Curacao... when they fly off as a flock it is amazing
