On a trip to Arundel again, I was lucky enough to spot the Kingfisher and this time he was successful in his fishing. Unfortunately he took it out of sight to eat in privacy.

Nice female Kingy, you weren't there with Ina were you. Nice capture but looks as though it could have been handheld or cropped heavily as the fine detail is just starting to go

Handheld. I had to act quickly. Very little cropping, only to centralise the Kingfisher.

The catchlight in her eye and the sun on her back and side brings out her colours nicely. Other viewer comments suggest how elusive these little birds can be - not to mention quick - so I'm all the more impressed! I've yet to capture a decent, sharp shot of the Asure Kingfisher here.
