When I spotted this Pirate with is wife walking along Church St I quickly asked permission to take some image, he soon agreed to move to a different location so that I could use Whitby harbour as a background, the image was taken just before dusk about 4.30pm . The lighting was from a hand held reflector no flash was used. This image as been toned in Photoshop.

outstanding photo. the processing is very strong, but basically a good photo like this would look good with any kind of processing. Very well composed (and posed) with a blur bg that very much keeps its relevance though and adds to the shot.
Allow me to be vote number 63. I much prefer Version 1. Very strong image and well executed. You can tell it's in Whitby as well as despite it's small size the harbour is easily recognisable. The harbour gives the 'pirate' a sense of location.
