Part of the way through our recent Lakes holiday we had a trip to Newcastle for a family birthday, hence this shot from St. Mary's lighthouse. Whilst on the seafront I bumped into Pete Bridgwood from Outdoor Photography magazine, who was trying out the new Sigma 12-24mm Mk2 lens. He very kindly let me borrow it for a few shots; this is one of them. It has a very bulbous front element so ND grads are not possible, all the sky work here was done in software using the Lightroom 3.5 ND filter. The dramatic distortion that inevitably results from 12mm focal length has also been corrected in Lightroom 3.5.

You lucky person you! This is a wonderful image with interest at every level. (Why do I never bump into generous photo geeks with ultra wide angle lens)?
Namedropper !!!
(I'm only jealous). Lovely capture.
