Taken on Sunday at RAF Waddington.
It is great to see that this wonderful aircraft is again in our skies. Sadly though, on Sunday, it never made it to the sky.
Although it had flown on Saturday, an electrical fault prevented it from flying on Sunday.
So as not to dissapoint the crowds too much, it made a high speed taxi along the main runway. This happened immediately following the biggest downpour of the day.
Fortunately though the Sun broke through at exactly the same time, providing a dramatic backdrop.
Then the pilot gunned it!! The power/heat unleashed by those four engines, immediatly turning the water on the runway to spray/steam.
I hope I have done the ensuing image justice.
Over to you to decide.
Got to go out shortly for a couple of hours, will catch up later.

Im not usually into photos of planes but found this one appealing, I think the dark sky and the spray do it. Angi
Over the last few days I have seen many images of the Vulcan at Waddington, but this is by a country mile the very best yet Stewy what you have caught here is the magic of this wonderful machine, awesome wish it was my shot, cheers John
Yes, the thunderstorm did make for some good effects on the day, maybe better than a blue sky
It really worked well here to give you that contrast with the spray.

WOW!! Thanks all. I feel a bit like the rain on the runway, blown away!!
