Taken Aug 28 2007, I had to keep running outside every few minutes that night, despite the fact that we were having a meeting at home, there was a lunar eclipse happening, where the moon gets "hidden" by the earth's shadow. I had my old 70 - 210mm zoom pointed skywards on the tripod, a bit of a problem, as the zoom kept wanting to slide down into unzoomed territory. From memory a bit of tape helped out.
This photo was taken after the moon was in full shadow, coloured I guess by the amber light reflecting/refracting off Earth's deserts and atmosphere.
