Col and Georgie

Col with Georgie the gyr / saker. She is a falcon and you would not usually fly her at rabbits - rather like using a porsche to go shopping but due to the saker in her you could train her for rabbits.

Originally she was used to hunt sea gulls and worked on rubbish dumps etc clearing these. This was not with us.
We started to fly her last year but so far we have only flown her to the lure. She was very very unfit and she found it hard doing more than a few circuits to the lure.

She was well trained though. If she left the lure then she would run back to it and stamp on it when you came with food just to show you she really had got it.
