This was one of the prettiest carnations I've ever seen.
It was part of a bouquet given to me by my work colleagues before my wedding and I totally forgot I'd taken this until I was browsing through a few files this afternoon. Its lovely when you find shots you'd forgotten about and really quite like Smile

I think basically the shot is let down by the composition. The image is about the carnation and I think you should have considered removing the flower from the bouquet.
You could then have put a cloth or card as a back ground of your choice behind it. This is always a good way to display a flower at it's best and is worth thinking about for any future flower images.
With the carnation partly cut off and the distraction of the white flowers this is not a very appealing image.
As it stands if you want to improve your original of this I would suggest adj the levels and put a little more light into the carnation to brighten it up.
