Another one of Sally with her favourite toy.
Cropped and converted to b/w in photoshop, I would particularly like some feed back on the conversion as I'm still not 100% confident in converting to b/w and am still experimenting.

She is such a cutie I would have loved to take her home with me!

Awww she really is a cutie. An absolutely lovely image, very puppy like, if you know what I mean Smile and nice focus on the eyes.

I'm no expert at all, but I would say that the image needs a bit of a lift tonally, it's all a tad dark I think. I have just started using PS CS3 and there is a black and white adjustment layer that can be used, where you can fiddle about with the lightness/darkness of the various converted colours with sliders, just to get the look you want. I find this really useful. Not sure which PS your using and if what I've mentioned is available.

Many thanks Natalie I cant believe I forgot to check the levels before I posted this shot, maybe why its a bit dark. I have uploaded a lighter version which I think looks better and less "muddy"

Yes v2 is a vast improvement. A really gorgeous portrait. I think that possibly the bright bits on the toy are a little distracting though. Apart from that, I find this quite stunning.

P.S. Actually I think this is such a lovely portrait, I can't help wondering whether you should upload v2 to the gallery another day maybe, so that v2 is the thumbnail that gets seen. This portrait definitely deserves more attention than it's getting!
