yep, ive done this sort of thing too, its interesting to experiment this way, but may i suggest that i have found that they work better if you take one half (say the right side on here because its the most interesting) and then flip that into a mirror image and the match up and joint work better.

then id do a quick s curve to increase the saturation and contrast a little and i think it would be an interesting scene with a good central zone to set it off.
