No good just cookie cutting the dog out of the background as it looks weird without any shadows... so must make sure no creases or shadowing from flashgun in future. Still, apart from the background the dog is ok?

Ohhh, yes thats a good idea, I should have thought of that. Some gun dog stuff (recently acquired a fur covered tennis ball, something like that would be perfect!). Good suggestion, thanks!

Im a little confused, - do you want shadows in the background? The dog shot itself looks good, - let me know what youre getting at.

I want appropriate shadow, a nice soft one that puts the dog in perspective and context. I think in hindsight a non white background would have worked better, something thats supposed to be messy and crumpled...
