Due to my technique of thrusting the camera at an angle under the fungus (only possible with a compact) and hoping for the best most of mine were out of focus. I love the texture of the gills from underneath though. No brilliant shots from Sunday but what a great day out and I'm enjoying looking through the results from all the hard-core fungophiles.

This has worked quite well- like the angle of view but might have tried to tone down the highlights in the sky a touch.

Like the angle and shot. Top left of the frame distracts slightly.

Glad you had a good result from the day. Sorry I didn't see you - I think I was nose-down to the forest floor when you arrived!

Great angle, try doing that with an SLR - you'd need to dig a pit first!

Hi Sus,
when I went last year I only had a compact and some of the macro shot I took were better than the ones I got on my SLR and macro lens this year!
Nice details here.
