One of a large group of Hobby's we spotted down at Ham Wall today. At one point there were 13 of them, I was so excited I could barely keep the camera still Grin.
Poor Ade was not a happy bunny though, cos they were feasting on his beloved Dragon Flies, so there's a serious possibility that his upload may well have turned into a Hobby's Sunday lunch Wink...never mind eh...that's nature for you.
Thank you so much for all your lovely comments on my previous uploads and thanks for dropping by and taking a look at this one too.....Sue x

A terrific inflight capture, so good to see him/her against a clear blue sky.

What a fantastic bird and the fan of the tail is superb. Worth viewing large for extra detail.

There's always a humorous side to photography Sue - pity poor Ade's on the receiving end most times Wink

..." shame it's only damselflies you can see in his beak Wink Wink " ...that's because they'd eaten all the big ones to fuel them to catch the faster damselflies Wink

A fine capture Sue - love the backlit detail in the feathers...

Mike

What a super capture. Look at the light coming through the tail feathers! So cool Smile

I've just read Ade's comment and obviously damselflies rank well below dragonflies in Ade's World of Insects Wink
