It's challenging to photograph a 7" bird flying at 30 mph. It takes a while before the pictures are of a good standard.
Many thanks to all the encouragement I receive from most of the lovely people who view my photos.

And what a stunning well timed shot it is great detail for the speed its going amazing work ![]()
Alan you are just showing off now, lol, you go for it like you said it is so hard to acheive these sort of images and you are doing a cracking job, very well done and keep them coming.
well Alan as you full well know in any club competition now they want action and not a bird on a so called stick! makes it hard for the likes of you and I because wildlife is hard enough but we cant give in to those so called judges because when the going gets tough the tough get going and with wildlife you have to be tough![]()
This is a beautiful picture, perfectly streamlined and if I could manage half as well as you have done here then I would be chuffed to bits.
An awesome shot. I can't imagine why anyone would want to give you a hard time trying to photogarph such an elusive bird.
I often wander around the local park with my camera and people keep on asking me if I am there to photograph the kingfisher. I tell them I'd happy just so see the bloody thing! (In 6 years I've seen it once!)
A big congrats on the well deserved awards
It really is a belter
A sensational inflight capture, you've timed this one to perfection
