Guiney just after eating a fish last Sunday looking rather pleased with herself
Was a freezing cold day, but when you have the pleasure of witnessing these magical little birds
you really don't notice until you try to get up again..frozen solid!

Sorry to all who voted on the last image but Mossy Oak pointed out was it the same as another..
no as had just finished prosessing and changing the branch..but it was similar, so never let it be said, I do my best.Wink

At the moment having central heating sorted as not working!!!!

Anyone interested in a D50 Canon? please PM me

Keep warm, and enjoy this one of Guiney

Lillian

Great colour. I can never get near enough to kingfishers for decent shots. I'll have to buy a fish costume.

You lucky girl Lillian, I have just spent two hours on the Stour and saw many an electric blue flash as Kingfishers sped past but never one that stopped for it's photo to be taken. Sad

A smashing shot, well done.

Hope the heating will soon be sorted.

Definately preferred the one you deleted Lillian it looked more natural in colour and exposure. Very good composition on this and some good plumage detail and the all important catchlight in the eye. It almost looks 3D from the difference in the perch/Kingy and the river from the vibrancy and saturation and sharpness, whereas the river is very muted and matt. Did you select the perch to get this and use content aware on the water?

I love the images of Kingies you re posting these days, this one is certainly included! Great perch too and like the natural setting as bg. I see no one has aswered your query as yet. Sorry, but I don't know the answer. I am fighting to stop the new computer treating all messages from epz to date from being treated as Junk Mail!
