So this was taken with my little powershot and am very pleased with the results

First time I used it! so after seeing these maybe it will see the fresh air more

V2 From St Marks Square

Thanks for all those great comments yesterday, and your votes most appreciated

Tomorrow back to Carnival and masks

Your new PowerShot has served you well here, Lillian.......not easy subjects with the shading under the archways and the much brighter facades outside.
I like the way you have used these arches for framing the scene.......you have such a keen eye compositionally and many could learn a thing or two by viewing your work.
I like both almost equally but possibly V 1 just pips it for me, as the wet joins between the flagstones carry the light right into the f/g.
Lovely work as ever and I look forward to so many more.
Ronnie.

Excellent use of the available frames Lillian. Classic canal and bridge in v1 but it's the colours and textures of v2 that I like best. It also looks more balanced to me with lots of interest therein. Two good spots and captures.

And there I was thinking you were having fabulous weather! But perhaps you wouldn't have captured these two lovely little corners of Venice if the sun had been blazing away. V2 for me.

Rain, snow and wind - didn't see any mention of the hot chocolate and 2 giant profiterols we each had to reward ourselves for going out that afternoon Tongue. My one similar to your V1 is quite dark, and never noticed this scene in V2. 2 Very good shots. Moira
