Description

Hummingbird Moth
Hemaris thysbe 2 inches

aka Clearwing moth

I saw this moth hung on the yet un opened Autumn Joy buds-- made several images, and then started to worry about him-- Usually one hears, rather that views this moth---

About then, he decided to fly off! Hurrah!

It has been sitting on my desktop for about a month---- LOL!

This is a lovely image of the moth and I love the Autumn Joy buds in b/g.
I love the transparency in the wings,great detail on body too.

I love this Autumn Joy before it's opened out fully - and this moth is a beauty. Nice of him to stay still for so long. Every time I've seen one, it's been hurtling around like a demon! Fab shot btw Jenn!

A real belter Jenn, the detail and clarity is immaculate. I've never seen a shot of one before where one has stayed still, their wings are usually whirring around furiously even when they are nectaring
