VS MODE

Quote: Would be interesting to see the stats on the VSmode. Are there as many people voting? Are there as many votes being cast? Looking at the leader board it appears to be going the same way as the 'best of' gallery where once the initial flush of excitement had passed whichever image was at the top stays there.

Yes, would be interesting to see some feedback

Best of Gallery
Ahh ahhh so I'm not going mad and if it's not been on the main menu recently, hence the lack of response from anyone who may have used it.

Shoot me down if you like, but where is this "best of gallery"? If I could see it I might use it!

Longleat tips please.
Try and make time to visit Heavens Gate which sits above the estate. Stunning views towards the House and also some intersting sculptures by Paul Norris

Many thanks for your critique Cheryl.

Good point about the idea of a theme and something I will probably try.

Thanks

3. Members' Exhibitions (Located in the Members menu)

Was never aware of the members exhibitions page but well worth checking out and the slideshow is an excellent idea and way of viewing a members photos.

A shame the option isn't available when looking at members portfolios..........a lot easier than clicking through and more likely for members to view older shots rather than recently taken.

OK here goes - Sarah

Sorry Ade I haven't been to the pub, so beat you to it!

1. What do you like of their PF (if you do)?
Sarah takes some great architectural and seascape shots. Not always my cup of tea as for me, some are too manipulated but having said that I ceratinly commend her on her digital PS skills. The Leeds Castle shots are also good and knowing thsi place well myself, she certainly manages to portray it in all its splendour.

2. What do you think is lacking in their PF?
Maybe more mono work as some of her shots would certainly look good in mono. Perhaps also, some macro and candid/streetlife shots

3. How do you think they can improve their PF?
Step outside the box a bit and a few more "straight" out of the camera images

4. What do you like to see in their PF?
Particularly like the composition in her architectural shots and enjoyed the Cornish shots (a place close to my heart, particularly Mousehole)

5. Whose work would you recommend them to have a look at

Too many to choose from. Just browsing the gallery can give inspiration.

I'm using excel 2007 and trying to adapt an existing worksheet. However, the columns/cells outside the existing page (columns A-F) cannot be accessed and I cannot enter data or insert additional columns into the sheet. The headings row run from A to F and then blank and there are no cells to enter data into.

Improving RAW images
I have recently taken some sunset shots with people in the foreground. Sunset is great but unfortunately flash didn't fire and people in foreground are in silouette/under-exposed. Pics are taken using RAW and I need some advise on getting some light/detail back into the people without losing the sunset detail.

Cheers

Gallery Votes/Comments - Luck or not????

Quote: "Looking back perhaps I was wrong to mention votes in my original post but not so to mention the lack of comments, the more of those I get the better and quite frankly I dont care much what methods I use to get them as long as they are constructive & helpful in some way or form. "

Then surely Marc if you want constructive comment you should be posting your comments for critique.

Angus, as you already have PS why aren't you purchasing as an upgrade, which is a lot cheaper? If upgrading from version 7 it's circa 175.

very well put Gerry. Whatever voting system is used will always create those who are for or against it, so lets just accept the situation and get on with what we all enjoy; taking photographs.
