One of the glories of winter. I've actually desaturated this a wee bit – to tone down the original colour, which really was quite gaudy.
I'm regarding this as primarily an abstract.
Taken with one hand while hanging on to bushes with the other, the dogwood is on a steep bank.
Thanks for looking,
Moira

Love the plant in winter because of the colour, obviously. Wonderful capture in every way, well worth the trouble taken.

I love dogwood, bringing a touch of colour to winter's very dreary days. Perfectly captured, Moira. Carol

I wonder if dogwood is what's growing around my local pond. It's gorgeous in snow - really red.

A fantastic burst of colour to waken us from the winter doldrums Moira. I just love the abstraction of the reds against the shallow focus on the background plants. I'd consider this for a print?

Glorious reds in this Moira, oddly I think the defocused background would make a great abstract image in its own right.

Now this is an example of something that needs to be in colour, and glorious it is. Unbelievable that it is slightly desaturated. Choice of f/stop is perfect to create the shallow dof that renders such a soft yet intricate background. Like this a lot.
Be careful when you're out there hanging on to things to get photos Smile
