I should have added that this was originally a colour slide, which was desaturated after scanning, channels tweaked and a couple of distracting dandelions cloned out on the right-hand verge.

this is wonderful. Very moody and your eyes just follow the road to .........................................
i think colour slide converted to b&w works really well, i do it regularly and find the contrast really nice. Your b&w images have a great fine art quality.

Well done! It so reminds me of one of my own years ago. I rounded a bend in the road after a storm and the scene was almost identical to this of yours. I used B/W then, on 35mm, and the result was so similar to this desaturated one.
