Out of all my shots taken on our 40th anniversary trip to Venice at the end of September this year, this one of the gondolier was Doug's favourite which is a fitting tribute to him.

My heartfelt condolences Louise at this very sad time for you and us aswell. Though I never met Doug, I felt the relationship I had with him via this site, was one of a genuine friend and mentor. He is still in my "favourites" and will remain so as a tribute to his wonderful personality and his great skill with the camera.

So many couples never make five years and although I don't know you personally, I know through your's and Doug's time on ePHOTOzine it seems you had a wonderful 40 years. So sad to hear that news the other day. I really thought Doug had pulled through.
We at ePHOTOzine wish you our sincere condolences Louise.

Very sad to hear of your sad loss Louise. My thoughts are with you.

I think I saw you and Doug one day about three years ago near Lochan na h Achlaise... I wish I had come over to say hello then. Doug used to keep me right on EPZ when I made mistakes about locations of places and Lochs. He had a great knowledge and obvious passion for the beauty of Scotland.

Kind regards

Jim

Louise I was so saddened to hear the news about Doug's untimely passing away. He was a real gentleman and his stunning images a source of inspiration to countless ePHOTOziners. Although I never meet him (which I count as a great loss) he always took the time to comment on my uploads and encourage me since I joined this site. I will miss him greatly. My thoughts are with you and your family through these sad times.

Memories are so important. Treasure them as I have to these days.
You may not have heard that my climbing days are over, I am now not even allowed to walk more than a very short distance. Yes, memories are the props which keep life going.
Love and best wishes,
George.

Hi Louise can I firstly say how sorry I am to learn of your sad loss. I have not been that much in EZ as I lost my husband a year and half ago and it kinda knocks the stuffing out of you. Anyway you keep taking photos as you have some amazing shots in your portfolio.

Louise
So sorry to hear of Dougs passing. When I first joined EPZ , it was Doug's photos that made me realise what I could aspire to in my photography. I was also very grateful that he always seemed to be able to find the time to give encouraging comments on my early efforts.
