The mist was almost gone when I took this shot on Rannoch Moor, there were still some reflections on the lochan and the light was catching the hoar frost on the trees and grasses.

Hello,
Lovely Image, A Motivator To Get Out And Capture. Nice Compostion With Good Depth. I Like The Light You Captured And The Hoar Frost Is Surreal.
Thanks,
Chris Readhead
Beautiful colors and reflection! I love the detail in the foreground. The frost is a nice contrast with the pretty blue sky! ![]()
perfect icy tranquility
You will love the 8800 for landscapes as the image quality is stunning.
I parted with mine as I am still deciding what I want to photograph and found the autofocus could be slow and frustrating under certain circumstances.Although I love my Canon 350D I have to admit that nothing I have seen matches the image quality of the 8800
Stunning scenery and reflections well captured and composed.

A beautiful scene, I love the way the strip of water separates the trees and the mountains from their reflections. i also like the frozen grasses dotted around and in the lake,
Chris.

PS we don't get the winters I used to know doon here!!
I think Skye has hit the nail on the head and got it right, pointing out the incredible image quality you're achieving, with your 8800. I had it too with a 995 Nikon but found the shutter lag too frustrating for general work and any moving subject, landscapes were pin sharp but even those, not as sharp as you're getting here.
I would stick to it even if you do go for a D-SLR anytime.
Wonderful image this![]()
