Another Water Vole (Arvicola terrestris) which appeared during my 4 hour vigil in the stream last week. This is a full frame capture and the Water Vole was sitting high and dry on a tussock of grass at the edge of the stream, munching on a blade of grass, held in one hand.
Settings: F/5.6 1/160sec ISO500 manual@500mm tripod
Best viewed large if you have a moment

Many thanks for your C&Cs on my Flying Fortress upload - very much appreciated as always.

Marvellous shot, Sylvia, captured in such cracking detail and colours. So well worth the wait when you come back with a shot like this: I understand their population is way down on years ago but that numbers are gradually recovering.
Ronnie.
(PS. And many thanks for your kind comments on "Wild Rose" yesterday....much appreciated. R.)
