Although quite rare and very shy, almost never a day went by without one of these fascinating birds coming to fish on the shores of Emery Pond. This one was in typical prowling mode, long and low, scanning the water for fish.
Many thanks for your C&Cs on my previous Green Heron upload - hope you are not going to get bored with these - I have several I would like to share with you! Smile

Stunning capture Sylvia. Its almost possible to feel the tension in the Herons body as it strains to watch for food. This shot looks almost as if it could be an illiustration in a high quality bird book.

Definitely a bird with a mission and it looks quite comical from the thumb.
Nice detail, exposure and DOF and I like the creative cropping which gives a great composition.

WOW!! This is stunning - beautifully presented and well composed. The pose is fabulous and shows off the heron's trademark behaviour. The image is crisp, clear and detailed with perfect exposure. I have a grab shot of a green heron in the mangroves but it doesn't come close to this! Louisa
