Terrible light and overcast sky all day today, so had to choose between the archives or another Robin taken this morning! We were wondering why the little birds kept on pecking at their feet and didn't realise that this was to remove the icicles forming on their claws, evident from the picture. Just loved this little chap's expression of pure disgust at the weather conditions.

Thank you all for your support of my last Robin upload - really appreciated as always Smile

A wonderful capture - the feather detail is pin sharp and the toning lovely. Poor little things - this weather must be awful for them.

Hi Dave - yes it is ice - two great lumps of it. Must weigh heavy relative to his weight! I noticed that a lot of the little birds had a similar problem today.

What a superb image, Sylvia, poor little fella, having to walk around with two ice balls on his feet! Very well captured. Carol

Another lovely robin image Sylvia, bless him, it is such a hard time for all the birds, let us hope the cold spell does not go on much longer, very well observed, super colour and detail, I hope he got rid of that ice on his little feet.

Great capture Sylvia and well documented image showing the problems these birds have this time of year. Glad we dont have to eat half our body weight every day.
