Still thinking back to last Summer and looking forward to this one! I believe I have identified this Greater Stitchwort correctly, but could be wrong. The lowest flower is host to a tiny insect! Experimenting again with settings and close-ups using a 300mm + 1.4x extender. Best viewed large if you have a moment.
Settings: F/5.6 1250sec ISO1000 handheld @420mm

Thank you for your voltes and super comments on my Blue Tit upload yesterday - very much appreciated as always.

A beautiful composition and capture, Sylvia, won't be long now before these charming little flowers are spreading all over the meadow here. Carol

Beautiful presentation - I like the sharp detail on the white flowers - the fly/insect adds to the overall natural look to the shot - Elizabeth

One thing Sylvia, and its the same with doing mushrooms. The preperation time can be so long on these to visualise and get the framing right. Never rush them. Sit behind the camera and look hard for detail.
The left hand flower has an annoying pirce of grass running straight through it. Could easily have been held back or clipped.
Other than that superb detail on the Stitchwort and a superb exposure
Richard

I didn't notice that stalk of grass and I think it's a lovely image. This happens to me sometimes - think you have the perfect image and then find out later that more thought initially would have paid dividends! Ah. well........
Joan.

The Stichwort is a lovely delicate flower Sylvia and, apart from the tiny problem highlighted by Richard, you have captured this well. A pleasure to be 30.

Great shot Sylvia with a lovely bit of contrast showing off the flowers, but I was going to make the exact comment that Richard has about the stray bit of grass.
