During the deluge of rain on Sunday I noticed that an area of the garden had flooded and the snowdrops looked as though they were in the middle of a flash flood! The wind was really blowing too!
Not wishing to go out and be drenched, I raised the tripod as high as possible and angled the 500mm so I could just get the snowdrops into the frame through a small high level window that opened upwards. This position also entailed my having to stand on a chair to see through the viewfinder - very precarious!!!

Settings:- F/8 1/30sec ISO400 manual @700mm tripod

Many thanks for your C&Cs on my last upload and a special thank you to Richard and Andy for their great mods Smile

very precarious indeed Sylvia but a great show of the sort of weather we have been experiencing of late, our local hide under water and for me inaccessible it will take a week of NO rain to dry it all out - superb shot despite being waterlogged I love it

What a lovely capture, that is quite a bit of water surrounding them.

Well captured, Sylvia, if it's not snow, it's rain! Carol

The positions people get into to get the capture....lol
Good bit of togging with the big lens and in the rain, even see as the drop hits its like a water cature.
Well done
Richard

Its easy to see how hard it was raining Sylvia. Well done to you for taking your life in your hands to get the shot. I'll wager there have not been too many shots of snowdrops taken with a 500mm lens!!!

That is so impressive Sylvia, hopefully they are dried out by now? and not swimming off out of reach of your 500mm lens, that is a weight.
Like also the splash of rain in the front
brilliant work

You can just feel them all huddled together on their little island, desparately holding on and chattering about their predicament Smile

Excellent shot, different and very pleased to make this at least an RC
