Experimenting with the 300mm lens + 1.4x extender and manual settings to see what the lens could do with close-ups of wild flowers, (swaying in the breeze!). These three are all the same settings:- F/6.3 1/800sec ISO400 420mm manual handheld

Many thanks for your lovely comments on my little Woodmouse. Very much appreciated and thank you for looking in Smile

As to your use of the lens, v3 is spectacular-- v1 works well, V2 is exceptionally sharp and clear--
Works well i think-- Jennnn

All three are lovely and I like the "simple" presentation you've used.

A good Trio of shots Sylvia - I think it would be very interesting if you take the same shots with your macro lens and then compare the detail, the 300mm has done well in your hands but I do think you can get some cracking detail with a macro - these images are very pleasing - with good colour and well presented. Hi Ina
Yes, I am sure the macro lens would be far better, but as I like to keep the other lens on just in case some fancy bird (feathered variety of course) chooses to fly overhead whilst I am crawling in the grass looking for flowers and bugs, I thought I would experiment a bit with manual focus! No time to change lenses if that elusive cuckoo chooses to favour me with a surprise appearance! LOL Smile
