Continuing my series about the Malta Falconry Centre. Apparently Barn Owls are bred as pets in Malta and sold as such in pet shops, for around 150-200 Euros, usually cramped up in tiny cages where they cannot even spread their wings. Harry the Barn Owl, pictured here with his adoring owner Doreen, who owns and runs the Centre, was one such baby barn owl. He was rescued by a lady who felt sorry for him, bought him and donated him to the Centre, where he has become Doreen's "soul mate". His excitement at being with her was intense and it was a delight to watch the interaction between the two of them.
