Our nesting Spotted Flycatcher (Muscicapa striata)pair are now feeding their chicks, which have recently hatched. The nest is high up in a gap in the stable brick wall so I don't yet know how many chicks there are. As soon as they grow bigger it will be easier to see.
The parents are perfect subjects for photography, as they sit motionless, scanning for bugs, then, like lightning, fly a quick circle, catching a bug with a resounding click and then returning to the perch until their beak is full!

Many thanks for your C&Cs on yesterday's upload - always very much appreciated Smile

An interesting narrative to accompany your fine shot of the Flycatcher......a busy time for them with many mouths to feed.
She stands out so well with that dark b/g.
Ronnie.

First class capture of the Flycatcher Sylvia. The perch is superb, excellent BG, lovely bright eye on the bird and an informative narrative to boot. What more do we need ???GrinGrinSmileSmileTongueTongue

A lovely nature shot Sylvia, I like the way she's proudly standing to attention and surveying her surroundings
