This is a composite, using seven consecutive frames of the same wild male Red Grouse (Lagopus lagopus). The basic background frame includes the bird on the bottom right and the others are different in-flight poses of the same bird, selected and introduced into the image using layers in PS6. Tracked from a distance of 71.8m using a tripod. The background is the natural moorland habitat.

Many thanks for your support of my camouflaged Female Red Grouse upload - very much appreciated, as always Smile

An excellent finished composite - each bird well taken and blended together to make a very natural looking flock of birds SmileSmile

Indeed, very clever bit of manipulation, Sylvia: if you had not spilled the beans, I would never have known.

Very clever, I couldn't tell it was a composite until I read your blurb. They are each nicely distinct yet the 'flock' looks natural and the colours are terrific.

An excellent and very cleverly manipulated composite Sylvia. Until I read your narrative I really did think you managed to get a shot of a group of these magnificent birds.
Stunning!!
