A juvenile Starling (Sturnus vulgaris), just beginning to show its adult plumage. Taken in the fields yesterday afternoon, where a flock of them was busy feeding from the berries in the hawthorn hedges. I didn't realise they were on the RSPB Red List.

Thank you all for your C&Cs on my yesterday's Red-winged Blackbird. Very much appreciated, as always Smile

Lovely shot!

We used to have great flocks of starlings where I lived - in August thousands and thousand of them descended on our rooves night after night - now there are about 50 in a flock - so sadSad

Wonderfully exposed and processed against that sky Sylvia, retaining eye detail and good to see the mottling coming through

Would you believe we get loads of these in the garden and yet I've very rarely taken any images of them?.....Much prefer to see them later on in the year down at Shapwick and Ham Wall when the flock up and roost for the night......Now that is a special time. Fabulous capture Sylvia.....Ade
