A Kestrel (Falco tinnunculus) posing against a background of flowering gorse. Taken at a Birds of Prey workshop in open Northumberland countryside in June. Handled by a Falconer - sadly it was too windy on the day to allow the birds to fly free.

My thanks to you all for your support of my last upload, with a special thank you to Robert(RobboB) for the GEA and to Julia(Natures Haven), Steve(SteveMackay), Brian(bricurtis), Adrian(tomcat) and Tony(tonyng) for their User Awards - all very much appreciated and valued Smile

Very different to see him landing in the gorse. Superb detail in his face. A lovely capture.

A fabulous image of this majestic bird taken in a natural setting, this could easily have been taken in the wild
