A full frame capture of a Meerkat, taken at The Cotswold Wildlife Park last Thursday, during a workshop on flash photography. This image was to illustrate the use of fill-in flash on a subject posing against a bright background. Would be interested to hear your thoughts as to whether this looks natural or whether it is quite obvious flash was used.

Thank you all for your C&Cs on yesterdays upload, with a special thank you to Jenni(jennialexander), Lillian(Lillian) and Geoff(FeatherFriend) for their User Awards - really appreciated Smile

A fine shot of this meerkat on the lookout, if you'd have uploaded another shot without flash so that I could compare the meerkat I still would not have known this was taken with flash!

Very well composed with an excellent POV, as to the use of fill flash, no, I would not have realized.
Very well captured.

Looks good to me Sylvia. The fill in flash has probably balanced the image and there are no shadows.

As there is nothing else in the frame on which the light is playing, the result of your flash usage looks completely natural to me, Sylvia.
Ronnie.

To be fair Geoff you say that about Orlov Sylvia's images, you really need to compare the meerkat a bit more thoroughly!Wink

It looks a natural image Sylvia - not enough in the frame for the flash to play on. Which is good.Smile
