A Coal Tit (Periparus ater), perching on a New Zealand Flax (Phormium tenax) seed pod in our garden against a background of autumnal Red Acer foliage.

Many thanks for your generous support of my last upload, with a big thank you to Annette (Annette38) for her User Award - really appreciated and highly valued Smile

Smouldering indeed.........almost as if there's a forest fire beyond: as I have said before, you make great use of your acers for a different b/g to the more usual for your bird shots. And a superb shot it is too, Sylvia.

Sylvia, I like the great use of the acer background, but especially the way the great tit and the flax are aligned an a sort of parallel way - it works very well.

Your acer makes this lovely coal tit shine! Fantastic light and an unusual perch.
I should put more thought into perches myself
