A Barn Owl (Tyto alba) taken last June in Northumberland on a Birds of Prey workshop. This is a falconer-handled bird. Sadly it was too windy on the day for the birds to fly free Sad

I was blown away by your response to my Crested Tit upload Smile Thank you all for your great comments and clicks, with special thanks to Zoran(Bzox), Ken(Franken),David(johnjo58),Mandy(MandyD), Adrian(tomcat), Mike(Greyheron), Bill(richmowil), Malcolm(M_squared), Brian(bricurtis),Richard(MossyOak) and Andy(ABPhotosUk) for their User Awards. All really appreciated and valued Smile

He's looking at you right in the face SmileSmile
Seems as if you are a very short way away from him down in the grass - love the pose and the detail SmileSmile

Thank you Helen Smile You are right - I was lying flat on the ground almost looking up at him Wink A tremendous privilege and not often seen on the ground. The falconer was attempting to get him to perch on a log, but he wasn't having any of it Grin
