The Bristol Boxkite(top) and Avro Triplane(below) taken at an Evening Flying Display at the Shuttleworth Collection, Old Warden last Saturday. These aircraft featured in the film "Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines". We were lucky to have a calm, warm, sunny evening with not a breath of wind, otherwise these aircraft would not have been able to fly, as they are so delicate. Fabulous evening and highly recommended.

This is a full frame capture and I was trying out the Canon 2x Mk iii TC with this lens for the first time. Autofocus exceeded my expectations with this combination.

My thanks to you all for your C&Cs on my last upload and a special thank you to Richard(MossyOak), Ade(Ade_Osman) and Ed(Glostopcat) for their User Awards - really appreciated Smile

I had no idea machines of this vintage were still air worthy no matter the conditions: one to treasure, Sylvia..........a very nice arrangement of the planes within the frame and the detail exceptional.

I love the composition, a lovely clear image, it makes you think back to the infancy of aviation and where we are
now in a relatively short space of time, also the bravery of these pilots and even more so the ones who first flew the aircraft,
very well captured Sylvia.
David

Super capture in ideal conditions for these veterans
I have been to many shows at Old Warden when they have not flown them because it was too windy
