A full frame capture of a Juvenile Great Spotted Woodpecker (Dendrocopos major) making a very good job of emulating a Bittern with that head carriage - all that is missing is a reed bed background! Taken in the garden a couple of days ago. These youngsters are amazing to watch, as they spend relatively long periods immobile, as they scan their surroundings.
Many thanks for your support of my last upload - very much appreciated as always ![]()
