Was on my way out the door this morning and noticed this guy hanging in his web, so set up my gear and came away with this, it was the only sharp shot out of 6 since the wind blowing the web around made focusing tricky.

Thanks for your comment and suggestion re : the crab spider--- --Yes, one can get too close -- I was more than lucky here as it was enough windy ---lost most of my attempts!
These spiders will need to hibernate or whatever they do as it is getting VERY cold!
