One from my archives - a young Kingfisher at my local Reserve. During the summer of 2010, Kingfishers were seen on a daily basis but following two consecutive severe winters, when the Reserve's large Mere was frozen solid for many days, the birds moved away. Unfortunately, the have not returned; however, I remain hopeful that they will.

Great shot , spotted one of these birds in local park today and took a very poor photo of it , thought I would have a look to see how it's done , any tips on best time of day to catch them , once again well done with your photo
