This photo of my wife was taken at the same time as the photo with lucy, with this image I like the pose and the fact the eyes are not looking at the camera but I am not really happy with the skin tones, I used my Speedlite 580 EX ll for lighting which did fire although the data says it did not. Thanks again for any comments Grin

Like the natural smile and good eyes here.
By the looks your flash was on the camera and outputing at full power with is why skin tones and hair background are all at the same light level. Worth trying with the flash off the camera or if not try bounce to the wall or ceiling so it just lifts the shadows.

Flash was on a tripod just off to the left and set to -2/3 think I need to invest in a reflector.
