Coltsfoot
tussilago farfara

This is a woodland flower, only a few inches tall and resembling a dandelion at first glance. Closer inspection shows major differences. A patch of these brilliant yellow flowers is a sight that says SPRING.

The Amish held their all day church at the holding directly above us today-- Some chose to walk, and stopped to say hello, etc--needless to say we enjoyed all, but I did not get much computer time--

I thank you all for comments most enjoyable and especially to Walter (gajewski) for his User award!

Beautiful photo Jennifer. I like how the brilliant yellow flower is framed in darkness. Was it as beautiful in Western PA as it was in Eastern PA today?

Like its very own little halo of sunshine! Another weed I prefer not to have in my garden but within the right situation, so pretty. Beautifully captured.

They say that even numbers don't make for good compositions, however on this occasion those theories have been blown out of the book. The beautifully detailed and illuminated primary focal point instantly grabs ones attention and demands ones full attention whilst the softly focused closed bud adds a beautiful balance to the composition.

Superb photography Jenn
