This one is for Ann (thorn), who recently inspired and encouraged me to dip my toesies into abstraction.

Ann, you like?

This started off as an inside view of an unfurling leaf of a Calathea lutea...a shot which I like in itself. That's V2, the straight from camera pic.

I then started playing...and ended up with V1.

View LARGE if you feel a need for more blood and veins.

A.

These should have been 2 seperate uploads as both are so very good. Love V1 with it's brilliant colours and title to match. Nice to note that Nature not only weeps but also has a heart!! Really like V2 with its "simple" image. Would so like to give this a vote for each, but sadly must settle for 1/2 vote each way. Will shortlist though.

Ann

Wow! No idea how you've arrived at V1 but it's a fabulous abstract (though I was thinking 'Open wide, say Aaaaah...')
V2 is a strong, enigmatic original. Downloaded, I might have a play...

Thanks, all Smile

Ann (EAS), tell you what...I'll put up V2 as a separate image for my next upload. I'll process it slightly but minimally.

Moira...play away, girl.

I love V2 Andrew, with those lovely colours & lines that only Mother Nature can create.
I also like the mod that Moira has done, making it appear deep, dark & mysterious.
Now I come to V1........what can I say , it's just extraordinary what you yourself have created...utterly stunning........wow......
I have always been in awe of Ann,s manipulations, now I add you to the list.

Very eye catching manipulation Andrew - the red teardrop works a treat.
Brian.

I do like version 1 - it certainly has the 'wow' factor, super colours and a lovely design - but I have to say I'd go on V2, and process it a bit, it's an excellently composed original. Carol

Elizabeth, lovely moody mod! And no way do I mind you playing with my pics. I like the soft 'spotlight' you've done. I say 'moody' 'cos it reminds me an olden days private eye waiting under a streetlight for a contact...lol

Thanks so much to everyone else for their wonderful comments. DIdn't expect such a reception Smile

Excellent work Andrew and I've no idea how you've come up with #1. Not sure if you'll have seen Dune; but this strongly reminds me of one of the giant worms coming straight at us Smile

Top work Andrew, just what we've come to expect from a man of your calibre. I like both versions, v2 is an excellent natural abstract with all those lines and patterns and v1 demonstrates your creative genius which we all know you have in abundance
