| Need Advice - Canon 7D or 5D MK II A friend of mine who I shoot with regulary has just purchased a 7D. I must admit it, it is also a fantastic camera. If my interests in photography had nothing to do with landscapes, I would be shooting with a 7D myself. If any of you are interested, here is the view from my house in Durban of the Soccer Stadium. My very first image with the 5D

| Need Advice - Canon 7D or 5D MK II Really loving the 5D Mark II. An amazing piece of kit. Managed to sell my 10-22mm, and will be collecting a 17-40mm tomorrow. It's second hand but I'm assured it's in excellent condition.

| Need Advice - Canon 7D or 5D MK II Hey all, it's been a while since posting on these forums. Hoping I can get some advice.
I currently shoot with a Canon 30D, 90% of the time I shoot Landscapes so my main lens is a 10-22mm EF-S Lens, the rest of my lenses are EF lenses. I now have the oppurtunity to purchase a new camera body and originally had my heart set on the 5d MK II, but after reading lots of reviews, comparisons between the 7D. I have now confused myself. On paper the 7D has a lot of features the 5D doesn't, and I wouldn't need to purchase a new Wide Angle lens etc. It just makes more sense to go for the 7D. Is there really a huge difference in image quality etc. Would the 7D be suitable for Landscape Photography? Please can someone give me some much needed advice. Thanks in advance. Bruce. |

| EOS 5DII Replacement???? This is my concern, I am about to purchase a 5D MK II, before I come to Europe in November for a 1 month holiday. Last thing I want to see is a new body on the market replacing the 5D MK II.

CB, I think you're right. Maybe I should dive into the pool so to speak. I already have a buyer for my EF-S 10-22mm, so it makes the transition a lot easier. I will definitely let you know. Thanks again all. Bruce. |

| Looking to purchase a 5D. Good or bad? Hi guys, my sister will be returning from the UK in the next couple of weeks, and it will be a lot cheaper if she brings one back, then purchasing it here in South Africa. The 5D body is about 1500 pounds from the EPZ store/ Warehouse Express, any ideas where I could get a better deal? I would probably be purchasing it online.
My second query is, do you think it's worth it? Or should I hang on 'til next year, for a possible 5D replacement? Thanks in advance. Bruce. |

| HEEEELLLPPP !!! Thanks Steve, had a look at the site but couldn't find any info on my particular problem. I will contact Canon tomorrow and see what the damage will be. Just can't get over how easily it was damaged. Read a couple of forums about the design fault of the lens on the internet. Suppose lenses aren't made for dropping are they !!!

| HEEEELLLPPP !!! I reached into my camera bag to check a serial number of my 50mm lens, and clumsily dropped it to the floor. It only fell a couple of feet. So I quickly attached it to my Camera and low and behold it won't focus. Even in manual mode. If i take it off the camera and try adjusting the focus ring it just slides round and round. Please tell me I haven't cooked it !!!
Thanks in advance. Bruce. In Lenses

| New Version of Photomatix Hi guys, been reading a lot in the forums lately about a newer version of Photomatix Pro that promises a lot more features and capabilities? I have scoured the forums but can't seem to find a link stating this? Anyone got any links to sites that may list some of the features etc? I have already been to hdrsoft.com but couldn't find anything there either. If I am correct in saying version 2.3.3 is the latest at the moment?
Thanks in advance... Bruce. |
