We planted these flowers too late in a long hot summer. Somehow the survived into the fall. I took this photo in late afternoon sun while reducing exposure.

This is a good example of an important caution when shooting flowers, - avoid direct Sun. The areas of the flower in direct Sun are bright beyond the capability of the cameras sesnor to resolve with any detail, so the areas are "blown".

If you can, best to shoot in bright cloud, and not direct sun.
