Still captured though the GLASS of Da Mao is the Male Giant Panda at the Toronto Zoo.

Like the past uploads of this GIANT PANDA I think is the best and thus wishing your comments/suggestions as I was unable to either a tripod or a polarizer and had to hand hold as their was to much movement in their inside home and didn't wish to raise the ASA above 200 since using an old DSLR I would have problems with noise etc.

The post processing was done opened in Camera-in-the-RAW fixed the colour balance increased the brightness a touch opened in Adobe Photoshop Elements 7 where I resized to 600 x 401 and then applied some UNSHARP MASK and then saved as JPEG for upload.

Potentially nice portrait, but there is something not right with your processing. The end image is flat with little contrast. I'm not sure at which stage you are going wrong, but this should be clear on your monitor. Try lifting the contrast, but. I think it's somewhere else.

You need to shoot a RAW and jpg. JPG is usually pretty close whatever might be said. RAW just has the potential to be even better. Process your RAW file to look as near the JPG as you can, then learn how to improve even further with RAW. I suspect you are not RAW processing correctly.

It has a slightly blue colour cast, which Ive corrected in a mod.

Could be the glass, or could be that you used flash through glass.

regards

Willie
